Road Trip!

In July 2024, I went on a short-but-full road trip. We left on Tuesday and returned on Sunday and visited New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, (crossed through New Jersey), and Pennsylvania.

In New York – we stopped at Niagara Falls (US Side) and the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.

Vermont – Morse Farm Maple Sugarworks https://www.morsefarm.com/. Bought lots of goodies and topped it off with a maple creemee.

New Hampshire – Mount Washington Cog Railway. https://www.thecog.com/ This was a super cool experience and even though it was extremely cloudy the day we visited, it was worth it. I’d love to revisit on a clear day.

Maine – We stayed for 3 days in a rental on Green Lake. It was beautiful. We caught the sunrise in Acadia National Park at Thunder Hole. Then we hiked the North Bubble which has an amazing view! Had dinner at Union River Lobster Pot, along with a blueberry martini and blueberry pie for dessert. Ate breakfast in Bar Harbor at Great Maine Breakfast. On our way out, we stopped at The Clam Shack for lobster rolls.

Massachusetts – We then headed to Boston. Spent a short time at Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market.

Rhode Island – Visited the Green Animals Topiary Garden in Portsmouth.

Connecticut – Stayed overnight in CT. Didn’t have anything notable as a sight or stop.

Last stop – Pennsylvania – Hershey’s Chocolate World. We did the chocolate tour and purchased a lot of candy to bring back home.

It was a great vacation with a lot of stops in a short amount of time, but weather permitted, traffic permitted, and all went extremely well according to plan.
